Education
Throughout the year we also offer special workshops and presentations for caregivers, volunteers, teachers, co-workers and people throughout the community. You will find the latest updates on our Facebook page. Or contact us for more information about upcoming educational opportunities.
Holiday Blues Program. For many people Thanksgiving and the winter holidays are a time of celebration and festivities. But for a person grieving the death of someone close to them, the holidays can be a period of great anxiety and feeling out of sync with the rest of the world. This program will help you or someone you know better understand their feelings and how to cope during the holidays.
School Outreach Programs. Lory's Place offers regularly scheduled peer-to-peer support group sessions at area schools as well as support during community crises. We can also assist school administrators and teachers with resources and education programs to help students better understand hospice care, dying, death and grief.
We found all the Hospice at Home Team were very knowledgeable and loving people and we shall never forget any of them."
Business and Organization Programs. Lory's Place also offers support for organizations and businesses following a tragedy, crisis or death of a co-worker. Our programs can help your team as they anticipate the death of a colleague as well as after your co-worker dies. In addition, we can provide resources and education programs to help co-workers better understand hospice and palliative care, dying, death and grief issues.
Hospice at Home founded Lory's Place to fill an ongoing need in Southwestern Michigan, Northwest Indiana and beyond. We are a "Grief Healing and Education Center for Children and Families."
