You make our mission and care possible. Your generous spirit helps to provide dignity and comfort to thousands of people in our community. Iris’s story is just one example of the difference that your support makes to a family. Please give today to ensure these services remain available to those who need them.
Iris and Lee
“When my husband was diagnosed in February, he really began to fail. I moved into the role of caregiver, not understanding how busy and stressed I was becoming. After a period of time, everyone runs out of the ability to meet those specific medical needs. That’s where Hospice at Home came in, and because of their care, their response to every single need and request I had, I was able to fulfill a promise I had made to him – to allow him to stay at home. When he passed, he did so on the beautiful glassed-in porch that he built, with all the windows open, a warm breeze blowing over him, with sunshine and music.” - Iris Rodak
At Hospice at Home, we are honored to do the work we do. When we are no longer caring for someone’s body, we honor their spirit. When we can no longer hear someone’s voice, we remember their message. And, when their heart is no longer with us, their love continues in ours. Most likely you too have felt the benefits of our gentle, compassionate care during the loss of a loved one or close friend.
You may have heard that we are exploring a future with Lakeland HealthCare. We are beyond excited about the possibilities this holds for the community. Rather than a duplication of efforts between two organizations, we can now combine our strengths to form one program with seamless care. Imagine with us a future of expanded Advance Health Care Planning, where people know what their options are and are able to say what matters to them most in the big picture of their care. Imagine a world of expanded Palliative Care, where people who are still receiving aggressive treatment can also receive comfort care, and are able to access hospice care earlier in the process. Imagine a world where Lory’s Place is front and center, ready to reach even more families and to provide grief education to health care professionals. We see this partnership as a way to take our mission even further.
As your local non-profit hospice, we go far beyond the care that is reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. Your support allows us to provide care to anyone in need
and no one is denied care because of an inability to pay. Additional services to support comfort and education such as massage, pet and aroma therapies, caregiver classes and our pre-hospice programs are only available because of the generosity of the community. Our bereavement services are available to anyone who needs them. Lory’s Place, our Grief Healing and Education Center offers a free, safe place for children and families suffering a loss to begin to work through their pain and find a way forward. Your support is critical to making our care, programs and services possible.
We hope you will join us and give with as much generosity as you can manage. Helping families cope successfully with suffering, confusion, doubts and fear is what we do. We make a difference to people when they don’t know where to turn. We are here to care for every person who needs us, and that is made possible by people like you. Please give today.
More ways to help
Your family, group or company can help make our hospice and bereavement services available to anyone in your community who needs them, and have a great time raising the funds in the process!
Car washes, rummage sales, lemonade stands, spaghetti dinners, golf outings - these are some of the many ways that people, groups and organizations in our community help us continue our care. Proceeds from these events help us provide community programs and complementary services at no charge.
We are happy to offer assistance to any organization or individual conducting a fundraiser to benefit our program services. If you are considering organizing a fundraising event, please contact us at 269-429-7100 or 800-717-3811.
Volunteer
Volunteers are essential to the financial health of Hospice at Home and Lory's Place. Whether you provide direct services to patients and their families, or work behind the scenes to help with fundraising, assist with office tasks or on committees, your gift of a few hours a week, month or year allows us to free up financial resources to fund the projects and programs that have a deep impact on our community.
