Why Would I want to use Hospice?

Hospice care may be appropriate if you or a loved one:

  • Has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness
  • Is experiencing pain
  • Desires to remain at home
  • Needs financial relief
  • Decides to forgo curative treatment
  • Has been told by a physician that further treatment would be futile
  • Experiences frequent Hospitalizations
  • Requires frequent telephone calls, doctors office, or emergency room visits

Hospice can provide:

  • Expert relief of physical, emotional, and spiritual pain
  • The ability to stay at home
  • Significant financial relief
  • Home visits, thereby decreasing the need for doctor or emergency room visits
  • Telephone support, offering expert advice and dispatching assistance when required
  • Respite care, to allow the caregivers the opportunity to rejuvenate
  • Ongoing bereavement support for family and friends following the illness
