Why Would I want to use Hospice?
Hospice care may be appropriate if you or a loved one:
- Has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness
- Is experiencing pain
- Desires to remain at home
- Needs financial relief
- Decides to forgo curative treatment
- Has been told by a physician that further treatment would be futile
- Experiences frequent Hospitalizations
- Requires frequent telephone calls, doctors office, or emergency room visits
Hospice can provide:
- Expert relief of physical, emotional, and spiritual pain
- The ability to stay at home
- Significant financial relief
- Home visits, thereby decreasing the need for doctor or emergency room visits
- Telephone support, offering expert advice and dispatching assistance when required
- Respite care, to allow the caregivers the opportunity to rejuvenate
- Ongoing bereavement support for family and friends following the illness
